Brad Newbery

Owner, Strength & Conditioning Coach Sgt. USMC

I served my country in the United States Marine Corps from 1999-2004. I served three tours in the Middle East including Iraq during Operation Iraqi Freedom. I left the Marines as a Sergeant with a strong respect for the importance of physical fitness. After leaving the Marines I became a fire fighter and now work in Concord. As I took on different physical fitness endeavors  including men’s lacrosse, skiing, and the performance needed to be a fire fighter I found Crossfit and never looked back. With coaching from my wife Steph, Tom, and online videos I  spent the first year doing WOD’s out of my garage and in the basement of the firehouse. I quickly realized a need to better understand Crossfit and to pass on that knowledge to others. I have always had a strong desire to coach and teach leading me to become Level 1 Certified.

I am the proud father of two boys. Will has a mean squat depth, and Daniel has a future in Strong Man.  I truly enjoy working with people and sharing with them my love for the sport of fitness.

Ian Butman

Strength and Conditioning Coach

A 27 year veteran of the Concord Fire Department, Ian is both a Firefighter and a Paramedic. He played Soccer and Lacrosse in school, was an avid rock climber and  hiker. Later, he went on to compete in many Triathlons including the Ironman qualifier held in Sunapee, NH.

In 2008 he had a catastrophic shoulder injury leaving his left arm paralyzed for 10 months. Although physical therapy helped he was looking for better results. In 2009 he began doing CrossFit on his own mixed in with traditional track workouts and found greater improvement in his shoulder from this activity. Today Ian likes to focus on CrossFit-Strongman and CrossFit-Rowing work. Both of his daughters are heavily involved with CrossFit, one as a coach here at White Mountain, and the other at a a gym in Boston.

Dan Curren

Strength and Conditioning Coach

I first found Crossfit in February 2012. I have always been very active and played a variety of sports but I had began to notice I was constantly fighting fatigue and injury more than ever before. I was looking for something to help improve all aspects of my physical fitness when I stumbled upon some Crossfit videos. I tried my first Crossfit workout at WMCF and knew it was the perfect fit for me. Fast forward a few years and I have become hooked on the workouts, the community and the atmosphere of Crossfit. I earned my Level 1 Certificate in October of 2013 and am proud to be part of the amazing coaching staff at WMCF.
